Sara Bennett was first and foremost a loving mother to her two young sons, ages 7 and 9, who were the center of her world. Even as she faced the devastating progression of ALS, Sara’s devotion to her children never wavered. She shared her love of Wicked with them—a musical that had been part of her heart since she saw the original Broadway cast as a high school graduation gift. That love became a symbol of joy, resilience, and connection for their family.
In the final stage of ALS, Sara was fully paralyzed, homebound, and receiving daily hospice care. Yet even in the face of unimaginable physical limitations, her voice and impact remained powerful. She used her platform to raise funds for ALS research, advocate for people with disabilities, and share adaptive tools and resources to help others navigate life with dignity and independence.
